Here is another Before & After picture of our house. The first thing I did was start pulling up carpet, before I even thought of taking a picture. I wanted to get that green carpet out of there as fast as I could!
There are still a few improvements that I want to make to this room, but as you can see, we've already changed it a lot!
I saw a cute flag made out of a pallet at sweetcsdesigns.com. Since I had a pallet laying in the backyard and some left over red, white and blue paint, I thought I would try it.
On the tutorial, she used baseballs for the stars. I didn't have any baseballs to spare, because they are all being used for what they were intended. So, I went to Michaels and found some 29 cent stars. I painted them up using the white paint and stuck them on with tacky glue.
I love how it turned out. It cost me less than $2 to make. I would love to find more pallet projects, especially for other holidays.
I thought that it would be fun to show some before and after pictures of our house that we bought in 2006. I have been so frustrated that we haven't remodeled the kitchen. But, looking at these pictures I realize that we really have done a lot of work.
When you first walked in to the house, you were looking down a hallway to a bedroom and a bathroom. We closed off that space and used it to make a master bedroom closet and a master bathroom.
Keep watching for more Before & After pictures!
My daughter LOVED Littlest Pet Shop a few years ago. She was starting to collect A LOT of them. We were trying to find a cute way to keep them organized.
I stocked up on these floss/bead organizers on sale at Joann Fabrics for about $1.50.
I then cut the lids off them as close the the top as I could get.
I stuck poster strips on the back of the organizers (with the top of the strip showing, so we can always remove them if we want) and stacked them on the side of a shelf in her closet. I left room above and below so that we could add on with new boxes as her collection grew.
Each little space is just the perfect size for one Littlest Pet Shop.
The organizers have one larger space per box, which is great for the taller animals like the giraffe or ostrich.
I even cut out papers the size of the boxes and taped them in after she had drawn pictures of each animal and named them. Now, she knows which ones have been taken out and can put each one back in their "home".
Now her collection is organized and displayed so cute!
Even though she is starting to outgrow them, it doesn't take up a lot of space, so we can keep around a cute memory of her childhood without taking space from the new preteen!
My neighbor gave me this salad recipe. It is so good! She said that she tried to make it as simple as possible and sometimes she would go to the local Chinese restaurant and get the won tons already made. She also used precooked chicken that just needed to be heated up and cubed.
This could be a simple, light, delicious summer time meal!
